Much better design than the original product. The original knob lever broke, it was constructed entirely or the flimsy chrome plastic. Putting the car in gear was a problem and putting it in park and removing the key was a challenge.
This lever seems like a heavier piece of plastic and the chrome knob presses on to it after installation. Installation takes a bit of patience and aligning the pin is essential, small parts and limited line of sight create a challenge but we'll worth the effort and money.
You need to reuse the small rubber piece from the original product as that is not included with this product.
This product has a GM factory part number on it but our local dealership doesn't show it in inventory or as an available part.
I t says it is for the Sonic and Aveo, but it also fits the 2015 Trax. The only difference is the color of the cap is dark silver, the original is a lighter silver. everything fit perfectly, although it was missing one part, the rubber bumper. I was able to salvage it from the old one without damaging it and reused it. It should fit the 2015-2018 Trax
The shifter is the same for 2015-2018
After being told I'd have to pay $400 to replace my gear shift, I decided to see if I could do it myself. I was thrilled to find out that my problem is common and a cheap fix!
Replacing the cover is a simple process. Actually removing the case is the hardest part and takes some time, but it's really self explanatory.
The repair worked great and looks like nothing has ever been wrong with the shifter. The only downside is the lack of instructions which is normal for auto repair. I couldn't find
it anywheree on the internet and this is a different setup (better) than original. I sit down and figured it out and love having a button on my shifter again!
worked perfectly in my 2012 Chevy sonic. just fyi :) Don't throw away your broken parts until put the new parts together their is a little rubber part that doesn't come with the kit.

Completely fixed my issue. Install a little tricky since the parts go together differently than the factory plastic. Much better design than the original
I looked up a youtube video and replaced my broken one in 15 minutes (probably would have been faster had I previously known how to do it). I've had it in for about a couple months, so far so good!
Works perfect in a 2013 sonic sedan. My son's shifter button broke and needed replaced, this was absolutely everything needed.
