This didn't fit exactly the way it should have. The inside piece was a bit too big, so I had to file down the sides to get the button to slide freely. The outside plate doesn't snap in quite as tight as it should be, it leaves a slight gap between the side plate & the shift knob.
I got it to work, but I shouldn't have had to make alterations to something that's supposed to slide right in.
If I'd have known, I would have bought another brand since there are several to choose from.
UPDATE 4/25/20: The 'slight' gap on the outside cover is now even bigger like it has shrunk. It's still on, but who knows for how long! I changed my rating from 2 stars to one!
The parts kit came as advertised. Price for the kit is half that of the OEM replacement parts. The button may be tighter fitting than the original you're replacing. May have to clean off some scrap plastic shavings from the mold process on the button assembly in order for it to slide easily into the shift stalk. Be sure to lubricate the button assembly with white lithium grease prior to installing the cover plate. Once the cover plate is installed there is no going back as you'll probably break one of the keepers on the plate.
this item came with everything needed to repair the broken push button for the automatic shifter on a 2004 honda accord. Found a video on YouTube of how to take the gearstick apart, clean and put back together. Appears to be a very common issue for this vehicle. Easy to fix issue and all you really need is a phillips screwdriver, a small flatblade to pop the button cover off, and a dab of white lithium grease from a small tube.
This was just what I needed to replace the broken actuator button on a ‘05 Accord. I probably could have just ordered the button and spring, but I ordered the side plate in case I damaged the old one (which I didn’t).
You’ll need to undo the two screws which hold the shift knob on (easy) and you’ll need blue threadlocker to secure them.
5 minute job if you know what you’re doing, 20 minute job if you don’t.
I replaced these parts on a neighbor's 04 Accord. Everything seemed to work but now we can't get the keys out when in park. We have to remove the screws and let up on the handle to get them out. Not sure if this is a issue with these parts or a second problem we didn't know about.

Bad. The button is not a good fit, it is slightly too wide and the spring is not long enough. The button and spring did not engage the shift gear as they should. I was able to shift gears, but not able to pull the key out of the ignition while in park. I should have gotten original Honda Parts, this was a was of time and
It shouldn’t get any stars! It didn’t fit! It should have, but the way it was made is just a hair larger than my shifter. I bought two of these thinking the first one was just a bad one. Turns out both parts were just not compatible with the real Honda shifter. Had to get one from another Honda. Bought the part that fit from a wrecking yard. Happy I continued to look into the parts otherwise I would have thought I couldn’t fix it myself and needed to take it to a dealer. Once I got a good part, it took me less than 3 min. To fix the problem. I wouldn’t recommend these parts.
The button was warped as if it had been in the sun or very hot storage. It would not slide in the shifter grooves. I had to order another button from another supplier (genuine part.)
Avoid this item.
