This shift knob is a solid all-plastic replacement for the leather and plastic original that spontaneously bio-degraded into pieces. Has the same physical dimensions thread size as the stock knob for 2005 Mustang. Like the feel of the new knob better as it is more solid and makes shifting feel tighter. Looks good and feels like a quality item. Expect it to last longer than the original.
Installed fine, no issues. The install feels snug, I don't think there's any concern about it coming loose in my 2007 Mustang. It's much lighter and cheaper feeling than the OEM, but it's also sub-$10 when the OEM is upwards of $60, so I have no qualms about that. Been using it for a week or so and everything seems good so far.
Ford shift knob biodegraded in just 7 years on a 2012 focus. Ford only sells the whole assembly for $92. For $8 bucks was able to replace it. It looks alittle cheap but feels good in the hand.
It looks OEM just the way I like it! The install is straight forward and extremely easy
I bought this to replace the shift nob of my '06 mustang and I honestly think it's better quality than what it came with
