Very solid piece, just a little ingenuity will alleviate any of the issues mentioned in other reviews about it coming loose or the allen bolts stripping. Just prior to mounting the shift knob, I inserted a fair amount of black RTV up into the knob (or I was going to use a 2-component epoxy kit) and then slid the knob down over the stick to where I wanted it, and tightened everything down snug without overtightening. I left it overnight to let the RTV cure solidly within the knob around the shaft inside. It's been solid as a rock ever since, very nicely weighted and made to last. I've been impressed with the workmanship and how it's designed to look just as great way down the road as the day you mounted it. I put it in my son's truck, and he gets a lot of compliments on it from his friends. Absolutely worth the $20 I paid for it... Arrived 3 days after I ordered it. I give it 5 stars easily...
Well loved it right out of the box until I tried to install it. The hole where it slides onto the gear shifter is way to shallow. It rides way to high and looks wierd. I tried drilling out the hole like another inch deep and almost messed up the grips from the inside. But it was still to tall. I tried it for a couple of days sitting high like that and it constantly loosens and gets twisted around. I Could not get it to secure tightly on the shifter. Took it off and put my factory one back on. Wasted $20
This fit my 2010 Tacoma (automatic) with the shifter sitting in the center console. There were a lack of good instructions so here's what I learned through trial and error. It took two attempts to put it on. The first time it was secured to the shifter but would spin and was hella loose. I had tried the smallest adapter for that one. I used the middle one and had to tap it down to allow the flanges at the top of the adapter to create friction in the rod. I added a piece of electrical tape on the outside of the adapter. With that, once installed, it was nice and tight, can still spin a little and with a lot of effort but when driving and shifting normally it's fine. It's really cool, and I like it.
Got this for the 2013 manual transmission Jeep Wrangler. Right off the bat if you don’t pad it with electrical tape it rattles horribly. Second problem is when shifting. It sits so awkwardly on the Jeep that you feel like you have to use the top of it to shift and it’s sharp. It’ll wear on your hand pretty hard, especially with long distance driving. Maybe this would be a good one for a shorter vehicle, but I absolutely don’t recommend it for the Jeep.
Needs threaded metal insert, instead of plastic bushing. Other then that I like it. Installed it on transfer-case shifter on a 1989 Jeep Wrangler.

I have a '13 Jeep Wrangler with manual transmission. This will fit over the shifting rod, but the 3 allen nuts that hold it will not screw in flush and therefore keep the bottom piece from being able to screw on. As a result, the threaded bottom portion of this is visible. I still give 5 stars because it's barely visible and the thing is really cool looking. Way better than the stock knob.
Cheap plastic adapters do not last. This became loose in just days. Not really safe.
Got it as a gift for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it. No complaints and it fits just fine.
