This item is identical in design to the factory part and fits perfectly. When you replace the shifter button, you will need to remove this part. In the process, it is likely that the tabs on the original bezel will break. To avoid this, be sure to remove the long plastic shifter stalk before removing the Basel. There are videos on the Internet that show you how to do the whole job.
My shifter button broke just like all of your's who are reading this review. I was able to replace the button at a local store who ordered the part in 1 day. But like all of you, my plastic part on left side broke while removing it to replace the button.
I got this item but it would not fit correctly at the top. I removed and replaced it numerous times but it still didn't fit right at the top. It turns out there were 2 very small pieces that broke from the original that were wedged in the spot were the part snaps in. These were not easily seen, and was the reason this replacement part was not fitting correctly at the top. Once I removed the small pieces w a small flat headed screwdriver, this item fit perfectly. Get this item and don't think twice about it. Just be sure ALL broken pieces from the original are removed.
We were told by the Honda dealership that the whole gear shift had to be replaced ($2000) because the button broke. Not so!! We bought the button & this plate, followes a YouTube video & it took 10 minutes to install. The plate is great!
Its been on my Honda accord for about a few months now. Still doing great and i love that its sold separately so you don’t have to buy the whole gear shift with button and everything when this was just the damaged piece.
It fit perfectly, at no problems at all. That little piece is been missing for a while, and it gets really irritating without it. It was less expensive than getting it from the dealership, too.

Ended up needing this after all with the purchase of the button replacement and thank goodness I bought it because when I removed it from my shifter the original snapped in half from age and heat, very grateful to not have to wait to order,, buy them together
My daughter called recently and told me the gear shift in her Honda Accord was broken. She needed the car a week from the day I ordered the part, it arrived in two days.
